It’s exciting to be Vivid!
At Vivid Coats, every project we take on is more than just a job. It’s a chance to create something meaningful with people we value. We’re passionate about getting to know each client, building relationships, and treating every space like it’s our own. While we’re on-site, our clients are teammates, working alongside us to bring their vision to life. And when the work is done, they’re forever part of our VIVID Family.
Each project has its own story, and some stand out for all kinds of reasons. Here are a few of our favorites that make us especially proud!
As a painter you don’t often get to experience a lot of the atmospheres you’re able to create because they are in people’s homes, and it would be weird to wander in, sit on the couch and say “this is a nice spot”.
Being part of a project where we are able to enjoy the space is a real treat, so Hughey’s Bar at McCartins Hotel was as good as it gets. Marcus and the team were very excited about the opportunity to be a part of this. You will often find us there having team knock offs and a few of the amazing woodfired pizzas they have on offer!
To have this project run smoothly for us, other trades and our clients while being able to control our finish meant working nights and changing the body clock a little to start work at 6pm and finish at around 2am.
We needed to keep this 125 yr old building warm, as night time temps would drop to 2 degrees and paint doesn’t like being cold.
Our team was always excited to get stuck into the work each night. We enjoyed a team dinner together, took turns in playing music, kept the energy high and fun, and the finish we were able to achieve was fantastic.
We love being a part of community projects. Something we can take pride in every time we walk or drive past. Knowing that our work is brightening the world around us and being enjoyed.
We are lucky to have worked on so many amazing custom homes throughout the years.
This home is not the biggest, nor the most expensive, but the look and feel of it is simply stunning! Built by a great local builder who is known for being as fussy and as thorough as they come.
Our clients had high expectations for the finish having built many homes before, this being their last one, and were blown away with the level of finish we achieved. The large country styled home features a weatherboard exterior and a separate huge double garage to match the exterior of the home. The front has lining boards to the eave under the verandah that goes the length of the 30 meter front facade. Inside, the main living area is simply PERFECTION. A tall raked ceiling that has exposed beams with lining boards between them, it continues through big glass sliding doors to the outdoor area. Large highlight windows above the doors to let the natural light in through the living area, its just “wow!”
This home’s warmth just grabs you and the features within that the clients chose help to make it what it is are all amazing, easily putting it on top of the boss’s favourites list.
This one is something that’s really special to us and needs a little back story.
Leongatha Children’s Centre is a community resource, run by the community, for the community. They are a not for profit incorporated association, that is led by a family based Committee of Management. We and many other families have all had the same experience of dropping our little ones off to daycare or kinder so we can go to work and provide for our family. This is not always an easy task. There can be tears on the way in, tears on the way out, and in the car park before we go to do what we need to do.
We approached the managers at the centre about possibly doing something at the centre to help brighten the place and make the day a little more fun for the kids. We brainstormed ideas with Paula the manager, and settled on the entry to the building. The job was bigger than what we had envisioned for our first community project. Marcus LOVED the idea of making the trip in, a little more “FUN”. We donated our time, knowledge, tools, materials as well as seeking sponsorship from our main paint supplier in Haymes for the finishing paint in some fun colours, that we chose, to complete the work.
Using a weekend while the centre was closed, we were able to clean and etch the concrete, prime, and start our painting mission.
We used our 5 bright and fun colours to create a geometric design that the kids can play on, hopping from one colour to another or jumping on 1 colour, all the way into the front door. Completing the work on a monday, we barricaded sections off so the mums, dads and kids could get in and out. The endless questions from excited 2-4 year olds asking why we were doing this was also fun. We simply said “why not, do you like it?” Every single one said YEAH!
Our aim for this initiative was to make drop off a little easier on those tough days.
We are a business that has more purpose and a greater vision than just painting. We want to change the world around us, inspire beauty, evoke emotions, and leave a lasting legacy of vibrant, vivid spaces that enrich the lives of all who inhabit them, and this project PERFECTLY meets our vision.
